Why Do You Pray?

Why Do You Pray?

Really.
Answer that for yourself.
Do you actually believe it affects something?
What does it affect?
See, I think we’ve misunderstood certain aspects of prayer.
Jesus said Father knows what we need before we even ask. He said it was the Father’s GOOD PLEASURE to GIVE us the Kingdom (that’s everything God has at his disposal). God seems ready to go from how Jesus speaks about Him…

So – when we pray, why do I get the feeling from so many people that they are trying to “convince” God? Get him to change His mind? Is that what the issue is?

You see what we see in the book of Daniel (10:10-14) is that when Daniel began to fast and pray an angel was dispatched but demonic forces withstood him. There were things literally “blocking” Daniel’s answer… and it wasn’t God.

For some reason the doctrine that God’s sovereignty means He’s literally controlling everything has become too common. Here is the danger with this: We pray with little faith(expectation) because we don’t figure much rests on us. We pray from a sense of “connecting” with God. Or maybe as a “good habit”.

But our prayers ARE meant to cause an effect. However, it’s rarely God that’s the problem in getting answers (remember 2 Cor 1:20). He’s already on our side (Rom 8:32). On the side of provision and care. He IS our help. Does desire our healing and restoration (Is 53:5). It’s the carnal natures in us and the demonic forces around is that cause the problems.
We (humans) have allowed  to run rampant throughout our world by surrendering so much control to them.

Why do I pray?
Because prayer actually DOES change things.
“And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive”
Matthew 21:22
